A conversation at the airport few hours prior to my purchase of two wall clocks at IKEA:
Dad: What did you buy this afternoon?
Me: Two clocks — One for me, and one for her.
Dad feeling slightly worried.
Dad: So one for her, and one for you?
Me: Yea. One will show the UK time, and one will show our local time… Hang in my office like those offices with a wall of clocks to show international time. Hehe.
Dad feeling relived.
Dad: Oh… you do know that it’s never a good thing to gift a Chinese a clock right?
Me: Yea… I kinda remember… occasionally.
The best thing about these clocks are that they are pretty silent unlike the type which go tick tick tick at night.
Now, you know why I need two clocks for the office?
