dimsum

I woke up early as usual—Sharon was back from her morning shift whilst Lester had just gone off to work. It was a sunny Friday—my last day in Perth and I was to have a breakfast appointment with Sze Sze at half past nine.

Not in the mood for a traditional Aussie Breakfast, we opted for dimsum at Six Happiness (六福海鲜酒家) at Northbridge Chinatown—a popular weekend destination for yumcha enthusiasts.

Shortly after breakfast, I was dropped along the streets of Murray and Hay to run some errands myself as Sze Sze had a staff meeting to attend at noon. Shortly after breakfast, a failed attempt to retrieve some cash saw my ATM machine refusing to return me my card.

A little after twelve, Lester and Sharon picked me up from the city and we headed down to Subiaco Station Street Markets to buy fruits so I can bring home. There—Sharon highly recommends the almond apple croissants from La Galette de France. I can vouch for her!

applestrudel

Another popular must-try item is the famed apple strudel from Corica—slightly chilled custard with soft, sweetened apples which melts in your mouth.

We bought one to share. Initially, I wanted to tapau one home for the family but it was slightly inconvenient due to its large size. And may I add, it was one of the best strudels you’ll ever taste.

During the night, we dined at Little Caesars in Mundaring—an award-winning pizzeria which serves one of the best pizzas in the world with an additional guest, John who may I add kindly footed the dinner bill that night.

All we had was pizza. Three plus one dessert pizza (the Mudhoney one). And as a lovely surprise, Sze Sze and the entourage dropped by during dinner after their badminton session. So much good food in one day with great company!
