Figure 1. Sister’s birthday gift from us to her
With my sister’s birthday looming just next week, Yien and I brought her out for dinner last night and got her a surprise birthday gift from both of us. Originally, under the pretense that we were accompanying her to look at mobile phones (as she is seeking to get her old one replaced), both of us were waiting for the right moment to tell her of our gift.
Truthfully, we were looking to have a good laugh at my sister’s face expressions when we told her about the gift. “Time to show 爱心! Me and Yien wants to show our 爱心 tonight” I proclaimed. Not quite being able to grab a grip of herself. She let out an OH NO followed by a face expression which was a cross between a smile and a constipated look. She was stunned. Being a nice brother does have its perks and laughs.
I suggested Converse (thinking I know what she likes). Yien suggested Nike. No guessing where we went in the end. Hats off to Yien’s good fashion taste (my taste was heavily criticized that night), we bought my sister her first pair of beige Nike Blazers which resulted into a… wait for it… a THANK YOU from my sister. Priceless.
