One should never use Google to try to diagnose a condition. I did and all it did was just make me more worried which led to my visit to the nearest pharmacy at City Mall shortly after. “Injured knee… fell down… scab… pus… swelling… medicine?” I muttered, only to be faced with more questions. “Has ‘he’ applied any medication prior to this” the pharmacist asked. ‘SHE has mentioned that she applied some sort of antiseptic which hurts TREMENDOUSLY’. She nodded as if she understood and started muttering names of medicines. ‘Is there anything that might not hurt as much?’ I stopped her briefly giving her a moment to breath.
‘Antibiotic cream will help. It’ll hurt less too than antiseptic’. And for the swelling. ‘This would do. Anti-inflammatory pills.’ Honestly, I wouldn’t understand how the pills work. But they better.
Antiseptic solution aids in cleaning the wound by removing germs and dirt. An antibiotic protects a wound from developing infections. It provides the best possible healing environment.

how long has she had the pus/swelling? how big is the wound? is the wound getting any bigger/increase in swelling and pus? iodine solution generally works wonders in clearing up minor infected wounds. if it hasn’t gotten any better i guess it would be a cause to worry, otherwise there’s no need to jump at every infected wound. the body is made for self healing. as long as she’s not constantly reopening the wound or pulling at scabs everything would pretty much heal as it should.
Iodine solution would leave a stinging sensation since the exposed skin on her knee cap is quite big. The pharmacist believed that that the wound wasn’t cleaned properly with antiseptic hence the pus the following day. That said, I’m hoping the antibiotic cream may work its wonders. Thanks for the information.
