As part of AGDA’s Annual International Speaker Tour 2007, Chip Kidd was in Brisbane yesterday to speak about his experiences as the well-renowned American master of contemporary book design which me and Dian attended last night in South Bank. It was a humorous, entertaining talk with many funny anecdotes thrown in.
One of his longer anecdotes revolved around a poster design for Adobe in which the client gave him a lot of creative freedom but failed to convey it clearly as it sounded something like ‘Can you do a poster for us, please? Blue sky, blue sky?’.
A coincidence perhaps. Johanna Biľak from Typotheque just released a limited edition Sky t-shirt. Blue sky, blue sky.
