Later this afternoon, Kompleks Asia City is set to launch its newest attraction in line with its focus on providing good entertainment for the whole family — Sabah’s first and by-far largest iceless skating rink.
Whether the experience offered by skating on artificial ice instead on actual ice differ is highly debatable. After all, it isn’t actual ice that you are skating on. It’s just artificial ice mimicking the skating surface of an ice skating rink. The Swiss-based manufacturer behind the iceless skating rink explains that ‘its flooring is made of a patented solid surface with a scientifically engineered density that allows the best gliding performance combined with a very long duration.’
`Situated on the fourth floor of the new shopping complex, the skating arena will be equipped with a snack bar, a pro-shop, vending machines and washrooms. With low on-going operational costs (there’s no ice!), I would see it as a feasible business to operate. No doubt, it’ll be popular among youngsters and grow as a favourite past time for the young and all.
At the end of the day, I feel that it’s just an ordinary skating rink. One without ice to be precise.

What the? So it’s just an indoor skating rink where u use rollerblades? so it’s not one where u use actauly ice skates with sharp blades? what a disappointment…crappy hell. But let’s go when we go back to KK in dec hinching…HAHHAA…
it’s an ice-skating ring witjhout the ring to be precise. you still use the similar blades, and the place is cold as well.
instead of using ice, they used a different floorign mentioned by hinching.
@chrystella It’s rink not ring. And ice skating rink without the rink does not make sense.
