In between KL and PJ

Spanish lunch @ La Bodega
Figure 1. Lunch with Stella at La Bodega Tapas Bar Pavillion

Earlier this week, I travelled with my sister to Kuala Lumpur for the main purpose of getting several documents authorized by the Taiwan Consulate to fulfill the university requirements which my sister plans to enroll in. The trip was after all an all-expense trip. So I agreed. :)

We stayed at the Pearl Hotel International—brilliantly marketed as the hotel conveniently between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur which pretty much meant it was in the middle of nowhere. Given the lack of negotiation skills, getting thru and fro from the hotel each day was a frustrating experience, we were literally chopped by taxi drivers trying to make a quick buck almost every time.

Surprisingly, I did manage to meet a few acquaintances while I was there—Stella, Ovidia and Joanne who all seem to reside around 1utama. So it wasn’t all that bad apart from the weather that is. Hot! Hot!

@stella Yes. That’s you! We played a terrible game of Scrabble back then.

@ladylike On our end, everything is done. We are now waiting for the Taiwanese Consulate to do theirs.

@johnny ong Fair enough. If it constitutes as hope, I did manage to get a kl taxi who used the meter, RM15.90 from the hotel to Bukit Bintang.
