A heightened interest in selling women’s clothing and the rising costs of shop estate has led to a trend of mini fashion boutiques being opened across major shopping centres in Kota Kinabalu. A mini fashion boutique is loosely defined as a fashion boutique occupying only a portion of the original shop space (In a bid to maximise profits, shop renters usually split their shop space so that they can rent it to one or more interested parties).
Later this afternoon, Kompleks Asia City is set to launch its newest attraction in line with its focus on providing good entertainment for the whole family — Sabah’s first and by-far largest iceless skating rink.
Whether the experience offered by skating on artificial ice instead on actual ice differ is highly debatable. After all, it isn’t [...]
How parties function KFC Karamunsing — Among the many birthday parties that I attended as a kid, I had the fondest memories of birthday parties held at KFC Karamunsing. Being a popular venue for kids parties at that time, it was the norm to receive several birthday invitations yearly to the particular fast-food outlet…. It was the best of its time— a birthday party with a large playground to play in. In early 2007, KFC Karamunsing moved to a new brand new outlet within the shopping complex…. Similarly to KFC Karamunsing, Burger King Damai had its own playground built within the fast-food outlet hence it was a popular choice…. The playground/indoor children’s theme park was larger than the size of the KFC and Burger King outlet combined together.
A security guard patrols around the car parks at night so do feel that you are in safe hands upon arriving Menara Tun Mustapha. Upon arrival at the main ground entrance, we were welcomed by one of the staff and were escorted to the nearby elevators which will bring us to the restaurant’s floor. I can’t recall what floor was it on but it didn’t take long. I’d very much like to suggest that they play some music in the elevators as it felt awfully quiet while in the elevators…. It didn’t take long for the latecomers to figure out that sitting facing the opposite direction of the restaurant’s revolving direction is rather discomforting…. The food proportions were just right, enough to feel full at the end of the meal yet not too bloated.
Well, me and my friends dropped by during one of the afternoons to savour their ice cream buffet. You get to select their range of ice creams topped with a selection of their available toppings too. Sadly, only 3 scoops of ice cream for each serving is only allowed therefore it’s a good idea for you to scrap the idea of creating your own ‘Mount Kinabalu’ made out of ice cream…. The glass windows surrounding Mosaic allow everyone to have a clear view of the outside as well as allowing by-passers to look inside too…. Being part of Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, one can expect good service from the staff there.
Long gone are the days when our grandparents drink coffee out of glass mugs at their local kopitiam, the arrival of ‘coffee boutiques’ like The Coffeebean & Tea Leaf and San Francisco Coffee have filled in the gap for commercialized coffee…. On another side note, have you ever notice that the mates at The Coffeebean Tea & Leaf seem to be friendlier towards foreigners? I guess it’s just a small observation but back when it first opened, every customer was greeted with a warm smile upon arriving their premises. Nowadays, these smiles seem to be a rare treat unless you are a foreigner, tourist or someone who had probably shown the slightest hint that you are friendly person when you were ordering your drink at the counter…. To some, The Coffeebean and Tea Leaf in this small city is more like a water-hole.
