Last Friday was one of those days you’d start slacking as soon you reached the office. Just because it was that time of the month—(1) the first weekend of the Malaysia Mega Sale and (2) paycheck day. I belonged to the latter with a dose of lazyness put together. Hehe.

Taking an early Friday lunch, I joined Patient No.9 and Nicole for porridge downstairs. And evidently joined them for an excursion—into the clothing boutiques in Wisma Merdeka. Now, apart from the occasional stares you get from being seated on a children’s stool whilst waiting for two girls to decide on whether to buy or not to buy in the changing room—it was a refreshing experience none the least. Fascinating—I’d say.
‘This is very 美 (pretty)!’ is an overused compliment used by most clothing boutiques to encourage customers to try/purchase the item. Surprisingly, they really do work on most occasions. Not to forget, if you are in a boutique for a long period like me—it’s always a good idea to strike up a conversation with the lady boss to remove some of the awkwardness especially when you are in a space with so much pink in it.
It was also last Friday that I had my first Happy Hour since work started. Pathetic as it sounds—family service had always taken up my time right after work as I needed to give my sister a lift home from tuition on most days. Anyway, there I was—enjoying a mug of TsingTao with Canon, Ivan and Jacqueline with a view overlooking Hyatt’s Mosaics and relaxing under the murky weather the rain brought. A Happy Hour by definition is me not needing to pick up my sister after work. It’s a few mere months before she is eligible to drive on her own. Yeh!
Around 8pm, right after the Happy Hour session, Charlotte and I met up with Jo and ST who were on a family trip in Kota Kinabalu for dinner in Lintas. A reminder to myself: Bring Jo to that place which serves ham dan crabs the next time they are here. It was great catching up with them!

Saturday started with an appointment with one of my clients at 9 followed by a bit of work at the office before lunch with Mei and the rest of the group at Secret Recipe.
And if it was one of my achievements of the day, I went for a jog at Tun Fuad during the evening for an appalling 1.5km before I ran out of breath. I almost ‘died’. I think the can of 100 Plus and two chicken wings at Khidmat Supermarket ’saved’ me in the end. I M-U-S-T exercise more…
