Point and shoot, not shaken—is how I like my camera to be. For the past year or so, I have been using a Canon G9 (RRP RM1999) to capture the photographs that you see periodically on this weblog. I honestly think they are not too bad.

3577930741_793de63984_o.jpgDespite its noise issue on dark images (the photograph gets grainy if the flash is unused in a dark environment) and the size of this gadget (figuratively-speaking, it’s the size of a small brick!), this camera has been churning out some pretty decent photographs. And I would recommend you to get this if you are seeking for a retro-looking camera and do not mind the size and weight.

Lumix LX3Another worthy contender I would recommend is the Lumix LX-3 (RRP RM1799). Heck. I think you should just get the Lumix instead. Several weeks ago, I had the chance to tinker around with Dinoza’s LX-3 which was absolutely fantastic—especially the way it handles poor-light conditions.

What type of camera do you own?

I have a Canon 450D, that I usually use them when I travel. I occasionally shoot interesting and random things that came up in life, with my HTC Touch HD :P

Michelle: Fantastic. Had no idea the blackbird existed.
ahbing My camera retail price bah when it first came out. Now the price drop already. More affordable.
Andy DSLR. I’m thinking of transitioning to it as well for work.

I had the LX3 and a Nikon D90. I love them both equally, 1 for serious photo shooting and another for street shooting. Just get the LX3, it is damn nice, best in its class. Anyway, if u choose to hav both the size and image quality, go for the Panasonic G1, i’ve tried it, awesome. Btw, if u can afford, then Leica M8 is a good choice too:)
