Over the weekend, I had this idea of creating a new website which aggregates snippets of local Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Borneo news from local news web sites like The Sabah Times, Daily Express and the Borneo Post into a much condensed form all on one website. The site is essentially targeted for people who read less (or people who don’t bother reading newspapers nowadays at all). The experience would be quite similar to scanning headlines in the daily paper I reckon. To be divided into several phases, the first phase would probably build up the news snippets. Each news snippet of course would cite back the original news article. The second phase would be developing the facts category (to keep it simple, there are essentially two main categories — facts and figures) by publishing short facts such as places to eat, things to do in Sabah, Borneo (quite certain that they’ll be photographs which will accompany the facts). Targeted audience would be potential tourists alike and the local audience.Third phase would only be implemented after I return back to Kota Kinabalu. This phase involves getting interested parties involved and to advertise, subsidize the costs of running the site and getting the word out there. In fact over the weekend, I’ve managed to purchase the domain name and have a functioning working draft for Weliveontreesâ„¢. The ‘Weliveontreesâ„¢’ name is inspired by the countless occasions outsiders assume that East Malaysians live on trees in Borneo. I think the name is just brilliant. What do you think?P/S Visit the site at www.weliveontrees.com

That’s a awesome idea, do you happen to need any help? I hope to play a part in realizing this great idea. :)
Why do you want to post Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Borneo instead of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah ,Malaysia????
I don’t think using Weliveontreesâ„¢ will a great idea. I guess if you continue with your proposal on using Weliveontreesâ„¢…
The countless occasions outsiders assume that East Malaysians live on trees in Borneo will never be break as ppl will still thing that we East Malaysians line on trees.
But yea i do support your effort to promote East Malaysian State particularly Sabah.
Just be more sensitive towards We the East Malaysians
i would like to be part of your project also…
Emman Lo, many thanks for your expressed interest and much-valued opinion on Weliveontreesâ„¢. Firstly, great catch on the term ‘Sabah Borneo’. It was something I overlooked when typing this entry. As such, the correct term which I should have used is ‘Sabah, Malaysian Borneo’.
I hope you don’t mind but your comment inspired a new entry on its own — Do East Malaysians in Borneo live on trees?
